United by Blue is an outdoor apparel and accessories brand that utilizes more sustainable materials in its products, and organizes waterway cleanups across the United States. For every product sold, the company removes one pound of trash from oceans and waterways through company-organized cleanups.
Founded in 2010 and headquartered in New York,
United by Blue produces bags, apparel, socks, and outdoor accessories sold direct-to-consumer and through wholesale partners including independent outdoor retailers and REI Co-op. The brand is recognized for product innovation (including bison-fiber outerwear) and has been a Certified B Corporation since August 2011.
United by Blue was originally founded in Philadelphia by Brian Linton and Mike Cangi. The brand is currently owned and operated by Poseidon Brands, LLC, which acquired the brand and certain assets in August 2023 to relaunch the business. Co-founder Brian Linton remains an equity holder in Poseidon Brands.
