While its academics are certainly rigorous, Valparaiso University prides itself on offering just as much outside of the classroom as inside.
Located in Valparaiso, Indiana, Valparaiso University is accredited for its Education, Music, Social Work, Nursing, Law, Engineering, Liberal Studies, Psychology and other departments by numerous professional
commissions and associations.
In addition to these programs, Valparaiso’s academics include majors in such specialized fields as Actuarial Science, International Business, Film Studies, Gender Studies, Meteorology, Peace and Social Justice Studies and Theatre Design. At Valparaiso there are also more than 40 graduate degree offerings.
However, at Valparaiso there is just as much activity, enrichment and learning outside of the classroom.
A Lutheran University, Valparaiso espouses a commitment to faith and service by providing ministry, worship and community service opportunities.
There is also a performing arts complex that hosts and mounts plays, concerts and dance performances, which are attended by the community as well as students. A student choir and an on-campus art museum are other examples of its plentiful arts offerings.
In addition to these campus life options, there are also a number of student clubs and organizations, a student-run radio station, movie nights, and other activities.
Selective in its undergraduate admission process, Valparaiso expects its students to exhibit some amount of academic achievement through grades and test scores.
Financial aid is awarded to eligible students through scholarships, loans, grants, work-study or some combination thereof.
