The Ventura College in Ventura, California, is a two-year college that
offers academic and vocational programs for students interested in
transferring to a four-year program, gaining employment upon receipt of
associate’s degree, or even pursuing remedial education to improve basic
skills.
Though Ventura is a two-year college, the school
provides many
opportunities for students to have an enriching student life that is both
fun and educational. You may participate in the Student Activities
Program, which offers leadership internships, positions in student
government and numerous student clubs and organizations. Two school
publications are available to students for both work and professional
experience: the Student Voice and Ventura College News.
The school offers many student services, including psychological
services, academic advising, tutoring, work experience and internships.
Admissions are open, allowing any student who has graduated from high
school or is at least 18 years of age the opportunity to attend.
Academics include a broad range of career and technical education
programs and associate’s degrees in fields like Accounting, Agriculture,
Chemistry, Criminal Justice and many more.
Tuition is set lower for in-state residents. The Ventura College Promise
program pays for recent high school graduates’ first year at Ventura.
Other financial aid options include a number of institutional grants and
scholarships, federal grants, and loans for students who complete the VC
Foundation scholarship and FAFSA applications.
