The organization trains and supports activists and citizens around the world to use video safely, ethically, and effectively expose human rights abuse and fight for human rights change. It identifies critical situations and teach
those affected by them the basics of video production, safe and ethical filming techniques, and advocacy strategies.
Some of the topics covered by the organization include gender-based violence, Middle East and North Africa Transitions, child soldiers, human trafficking, elder abuse, climate change, internally displaced persons, and more.
WITNESS was founded by Richard Branson, Michael Posner, and Peter Gabriel in 1992.
