WTEC is the nation's leading organization in conducting international technology assessments. During the 1990s, it was called the World Technology Evaluation Center (WTEC) Division of Loyola University Maryland. In 2001, WTEC was spun off into a separate nonprofit corporation by R. D. Shelton. WTEC now also provides other services to public
and private sector clients. WTEC has two small business affiliates, ITRI and MRS.
