Wycliffe Associates is an Orlando, Florida-based ministry founded in 1967 by a group of Christians concerned about the state of Bible translation, as many translators had to focus on aspects of their work unrelated to the Word of God. The founders of Wycliffe Associates identified business professionals with a passion for service as one route for
accelerating Bible translation, delivering God’s Word in the heart language of communities worldwide.
Wycliffe Associates works with the authority of the community churches in remote regions, empowering national Bible translators through a combination of financial support and efficient translation strategies. Bible Translation Acceleration Kits combine a laptop computer with a solar panel, satellite communication terminal, power supply, and battery, and allow focused work to proceed in even the most remote locations.
Wycliffe Associates also engages with multitudes of prayer partners and donors in organizing the translation of hundreds of New Testaments simultaneously. In the process, it engages communities and groups of worshippers, encouraging evangelism and bringing together Christians of widely varying backgrounds.
