Adrian Ionel is the CEO of Mirantis, and its co-founder as an OpenStack company. He joined in 2009 and initiated the company’s investment in OpenStack in 2010. Since then the company grew from five to over one hundred customers, becoming the OpenStack market leader and one of the most respected brands in cloud infrastructure. Adrian leads Mirantis’
vision and strategy, and the company’s overall development rooted in a culture of customer intimacy, engineering excellence and risk taking as its foundation for long-term prosperity.Prior to Mirantis Adrian was CEO, Chairman and co-founder of eOnline, (now part of Xerox), VP and General Manager EMEA at Qualys (NASDAQ: QLYS) and Venture Partner at Trident Capital. He earned a MSEE degree from the University of Erlagen-Nuernberg and spent his early years in R&D and product management. A Romanian by birth Adrian lived in the UK, Germany and Japan and settled in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1995. Outside work he loves trail runs, power yoga, spending time with family and the occasional mountain biking ride.
