Alan L. Kaganov, Sc.D, has been a Partner at US Venture Partners since 1996.
Prior to joining USVP, Dr. Kaganov led Business Development and Strategic Planning at Boston Scientific Corporation. Prior to BSC, he was CEO of EP Technologies, and transformed the Company into the recognized leader in catheter-based arrhythmia treatment. Prior to
this, Dr. Kaganov spent six years at Baxter International as Vice President of Technology and Business Development, and as General Manager, Fenwal Division. Prior to this, he was Director of R & D of the Medical Device Division of Wyeth.
Dr. Kaganov’s recent board activities have included: Atricure (NASDAQ: ATRC), CryoVascular Systems (sold to Boston Scientific) and St. Francis Medical (sold to Medtronic)—in each case, USVP was the lead institutional investor. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Aptus Endosystems (Chairman), AtheroMed (Chairman) and Articulinx.
Dr. Kaganov recieved a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University, an M.S. and Sc.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University, and an M.B.A. from New York University. Dr. Kaganov received a Career Fellowship from the National Institutes of Health in Biomedical Engineering.
He holds 15 U.S. patents and serves on the Board of Visitors of the Fu Foundation School of Engineering, Columbia University. Dr. Kaganov has also served on the Board of Visitors of Pratt School of Engineering, Duke University, where he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2005.
