Alan Spitzer, MD is a prolific neonatal researcher and academician who served most recently as Senior Vice President and Director of the Center for Research, Education and Quality at Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. (MEDNAX, Inc.), the nation's largest supplier of neonatal care services, overseeing clinical research as well as continuing medical
education and clinical quality initiatives. Dr Spitzer also served as the Chief of the Division of Neonatology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Neonatologist at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, as well as Senior Physician of the Division of Neonatology at Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania. He is the author of popular neonatal textbooks, including Intensive Care of the Fetus and Newborn and has collaborated on more than 200 peer-reviewed research studies and textbook chapters during his career.
