An accomplished businessman and philanthropist, Alan Zekelman is a Director of JMC Steel Group, the largest independent tubular products manufacturer in North America. He is the former president of Atlas Tube, in Harrow, Ontario. In December 2006, Atlas Tube was merged with JMC, which at the time was known as the John Maneely Company. JMC is
headquartered in Chicago and operates 13 manufacturing plants in six U.S. states and one Canadian province. A native of Windsor, Ontario, Zekelman holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto. He received his MS in 1987 from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration. In 1990, Zekelman received the University of Rochester's Richard L. Rosenthal Award for Innovation in Investment Management/Corporate Finance.
