Allan Wolfe completed an A.B. in American Civilization at Cornell before receiving an M.D. from N.Y.U. School of Medicine. Postgraduate training culminated in a Chief Residency in Medicine at State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. Allan was a research fellow in cardiology and rheumatic diseases until entering the United States
Public Health Service where he served variously at the National Institutes of Health, the National Center for Chronic Disease Control, and in the office of the Secretary of Health, Education & Welfare.
Subsequently Mr. Wolfe worked for several organizations in the medical industry eventually serving as Vice-President with responsibility for R&D, international marketing, corporate development, and strategic and operational planning for the principal manufacturing division of American Hospital Supply Corporation.
In 1982, Mr. Wolfe co-founded Hambrecht & Quist’s Life Science Ventures which was among the first and most successful industry specific venture partnerships. He was a General Partner of Utah Ventures where he served as a director of many biomedical and a few high tech companies from 1989 until his retirement in 2009.
Mr. Wolfe currently serves on the boards of several medically related early stage companies and is a director of the Southern California Biomedical Council.
