After paying attention to the state of the ocean and learning about the opportunity around intelligent aquaculture, Amy co-founded Aqua-Spark,a fund that invests in sustainable aquaculture. Before this, Amy spent a decade as the director of the TED Prize, leading over twenty global collaborations, across a broad spectrum of sectors, including
healthcare, education, science, technology, conservation, art and activism. Prior to TED, Amy worked in documentary television, which lead to developing and producing Chat the Planet, a TV and web initiative that connects young from different countries. Amy spent the early part of her career in Washington, DC, where she helped start up the Social Policy Action Network, a nonprofit that bridges the gap between journalists, academics, policy makers and grassroots initiatives.
