Andrea Jelinek has been the Head of the Independent Austrian Data Protection Authority since January 2014. From 2003 to 2013 she was the Head of the Police Directorate of the Third District in Vienna, Austria. From 1993 to 2003 Dr Jelinek worked in the legal department of the Austrian Ministry of the Interior, having previously worked in the early
80’s within the private sector.
Dr Jelinek formerly studied law at the Vienna University, having graduated in July 1985.
She speaks: German, English, French and a little bit of Italian and Spanish.
