Andrew is a social entrepreneur, a businessman with a heart. He is an innovator who believes in living an authentic life and building authentic businesses that solve real problems in new ways. He has spent his professional career inventing products and creating companies that positively impact people’s lives in meaningful ways.
In August 2017
Andrew launched BEAM Authentic, Inc. (BEAM), a real world and online integrated platform that connects people around shared interests, positive intentions, and social impact. To bring his idea for BEAM to fruition, he invented a new type of wearable: a BEAM. So much more than a fashion statement, a BEAM is a “Smart Button” that gives us an entirely new way to express ourselves and create positive change. BEAMING is the natural extension of social media into the real world. BEAMING is philanthropy 3.0.
Over 20 years ago Andrew’s first company, My Brest Friend, set out to do what no one had done before: create a product whose sole purpose was to answer the needs of breastfeeding moms and babies. Today that product, My Brest friend, has revolutionized the way nursing mothers nurture their infants. Its patented wrap-around design is the world’s leading breastfeeding support product and has helped tens of millions of moms breastfeed successfully in over 50 countries. Many of these moms were going to give up on breastfeeding until they found My Brest Friend.
Fifteen years ago he founded his second company, DayOne, a next generation healthcare and retail integration center providing a one-stop-shop for parents of newborns--a holistic solution for information services and support, including expert advice, community, products, and social networking, all under one roof. Before he sold the company in early 2010, DayOne was the regional go-to resource for tens of thousand of Bay Area families at the most precious time of their lives.
Andrew has served as mentor, advisor, investor, and Board member to a number of nonprofits and for-profits dedicated to doing good and making a positive impact on the planet. Most recently he served as Vice Chair for The Representation Project and advisor to Embrace. He also guest lectures on entrepreneurship at his alma mater Babson, where he earned a double degree in entrepreneurship and marketing. Andrew enjoys surfing, nature, music and dance with his incredible wife Sarah who partners in most pursuits, including leading the way with their three young kids.
