Ann Simonds was appointed to chief marketing officer at General Mills in November 2014. In this role, she oversees the marketing organization including Global Consumer Insights, Creative Excellence, Media and Connections platforms, Licensing and Marketing Talent, Learning and Development.
From 2006 to 2014 Simonds served as president of the
Baking division, which includes General Mills baking aisle and fresh dough brands such as Pillsbury, Betty Crocker, Gold Medal, Bisquick and Immaculate Baking.
She has also stewarded classic, leading brands such as Yoplait, Cheerios, and Wheaties in both established and new product roles.
In addition, she has grown through several non-traditional assignments including commercialization of MyCereal.com and as general manager in Convenience and Foodservice.
Prior to joining the company in 1995, Simonds spent five years as a marketer for Johnson & Johnson in the U.S. and Europe following her graduation from Harvard’s MBA program in 1990.
Today, she is energized by the transformation of both the art and science of making markets in the digital age. She is passionate about serving the world by making food people love in an “always on” world.
Ann is an active member of the General Mills community including leadership of the Harvard Business School Recruiting Team, the Women in Leadership Advisory Board, the General Mills Responsible Marketing Review Council and the Good Works Program.
