Aravind Asokan is the Co-Founder and Board Director of StrideBio, Inc. Originally trained as a chemist, he has blended the fields of protein engineering, virology and genetics to generate several gene therapy platforms currently being evaluated in preclinical and clinical studies. He is the lead inventor on several AAV patents licensed to multiple
gene therapy companies. Dr. Asokan is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Genetics and Biochemistry & Biophysics at UNC and serves on the scientific advisory boards of several biotechnology companies focused on developing gene therapy and gene editing technologies. He received his collegiate degrees from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science in Pilani, India and his doctorate from UNC Chapel Hill.
