Ashok Ramaswami is an accomplished investor and investment banking professional with expertise and a track record of success in corporate finance, venture capital, and the technology industry. He was a principal banker on over $2.5 billion in M&A, public and private capital raising, and strategic advisory transactions. Investments that he has
made as part of institutional and individual groups have returned over 7.5x cash on cash, on exits to date. As a technology industry professional, he has launched new businesses and products for leading companies covering many sectors, including wireless, security, and IP communications.
Ashok is currently Managing Partner of Sandpath Capital, an earlier stage venture capital firm that invests in innovative companies that are best positioned to benefit from the growth and changing dynamics of the Indian economy. Previously, as Managing Director for a $250 million India fund of funds, he led evaluation of new investment opportunities and was closely involved with operational aspects of reporting and performance analysis. As a Principal for a US venture firm with $100 million under management, he evaluated over 500 plans that led to the first three investments from their second fund. He was with the Emerging Technologies Group of Cisco Systems where he reported to the group VP and led investments in internal ventures with the potential to become $1 billion businesses.
Ashok developed and managed one of top technology investment banking practice groups for Deutsche Bank, that represented 100 industry and investor relationships and included a team of five Analysts and Associates. Transactions included lead-managed IPOs and follow on offerings, buy and sell side M&A, advisory engagements for CEOs/CFOs, private placements, and advisory services to venture capital and PE firms.
