Bakari joined Twitter as Legal Counsel in January 2010. Now, as Product and Business Counsel, he supports various areas including media, entertainment and developer partnerships, API platform and engineering, and intellectual property.
Prior to joining Twitter, Bakari worked at Google where he was corporate counsel for YouTube. He began his
practice as an associate in the intellectual property group of Kilpatrick Stockton -- now Kilpatrick Townsend -- with a focus on copyright litigation.
Bakari received a degree in banking and finance cum laude and with honors from the University of Georgia. After a stint in the music industry as both a performer and artist manager, he graduated from Harvard Law School.
