Barbara Desoer is CEO of Citibank N.A., a role she assumed in April 2014. Barbara has responsibility for corporate governance of Citibank in more than 100 countries around the globe. She joined Citi in 2013 as Chief Operating Officer for Citibank, N.A.
In her previous 35-year career at Bank of America, Barbara's most recent position was
President, Home Loans, a $7 billion/5 million customer/50,000 associate business. In this capacity she reported to the CEO, and took over on Legal Day One of the transaction between Bank of America and Countrywide to lead the integration of the United States' largest mortgage originator and servicer. She grew customer mortgage originations, divested multiple businesses, recruited new leadership, built out capability to more effectively manage operational, credit, regulatory and reputational risk, and led the team to double in size requiring multiple strategy shifts.
