Ben is a Professor of Chemistry and the former Vice President for Research and Chief Research Officer at the State University of New York, Stony Brook. In his former role he has been responsible for the campus-wide advancement of Stony Brook’s research mission through strategic planning. He oversaw the Research Foundation, supervised all Stony
Brook University research administration activities and functions. Ben’s recent work has focused on understanding the structural, morphological development and manipulation of complex polymer systems during preparation and processing in real time at both molecular and nanoscopic scales. For his research in polymer physics, including the basis of Liquidity’s technology, Ben was elected a fellow to the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Before joining the faculty at Stony Brook, Ben worked for DuPont in their Pioneering Laboratory department as well as a post doctoral research fellow at the University of Massachusetts. Ben has a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the National Taiwan University and a Ph.D. in Polymer Science from the Institute of Materials Science at the University of Connecticut.
