With 28 years of experience across the basins within Sabinal's focus, Bret has established himself as a value creator and strong leader. He has led teams in some of the most active plays in the industry and utilized creative solutions to develop and explore those areas. Bret is highly focused on team collaboration utilizing everyone's
technical expertise and creativeness. He drives value creation by establishing operational excellence and focusing on financial returns.
Most recently, Mr. Jameson was Chief Operating Officer at Lewis Energy Group operating in the Western Eagleford play where he brought his experience in large shale plays to improve returns. One of his achievements was adding 100 MM/day incremental production with less than a four-month payout through production optimization. This role included operations with company owned rigs and personnel. Prior to Lewis Energy, Bret helped Devon Energy in multiple roles including Business Unit VP in the Anadarko Basin managing the Cana Woodford, Granite Wash, and early testing of the Stack play. He led the effort to expand Devon's focus on unconventional exploration and created the New Ventures group to advance opportunities in North America. This culminated in acquiring over 1.2 MM acres across five plays and developing an innovative exploration JV wherein a third of the position was sold to Sinopec for $2.5 billion delivering more than a 4 ROI. As VP of Reservoir Engineering for Devon, Bret helped the Central Division develop the newly acquired Barnett Shale after the Mitchell Energy acquisition. This was the first commercially successful horizontal shale development, and it led the way for the proliferation of shale development across North America.
Bret holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University.
