Brooke Martin is an Associate at Floodgate.
Brooke is a highly motivated 14 year old who embodies a true entrepreneurial spirit and believes in working hard to accomplish great things. Her journey toward becoming a young entrepreneur was launched at Startup Weekend Spokane in Fall 2012. Then 12 years old, Brooke had an innovative new way for dog
owners to connect to with their pets when they are away from home. Her idea was so well received at Startup Weekend, she quickly had a team of advisors helping her to develop iCPooch. In October 2013, Brooke was selected as 1st runner-up in the national Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge at the 3M Innovation Center in St. Paul, MN. This past summer, Brooke was recognized by Justine Magazine as one of “12 under 20 Amazing Girls Rockin’ Their World.” Brooke is honored to have been invited by Purina to participate as a presenter at their 2014 “Better with Pets Summit” taking place in New York this Fall. Active in scouts since the age of five, Brooke participates in a variety of community service projects, has been honored with a Chase Youth Award for Middle School Leadership, and received the 2013 Distinguished Student Award from the Washington Association of Educators of the Talented and Gifted. In addition to her being a dedicated entrepreneur, Brooke loves her Morgan horses Bear and Corey, studies piano and violin, runs cross country, and maintains a 4.0 GPA. She is currently a sophomore at Ferris High School in Spokane, Washington.
