Bryan J. Stewart is a United States Marine Corps veteran who served nearly seven years as an infantry officer. His board experience spans corporate, not-for-profit, education, and government boards. At the Warrior Connection, he currently serves as a Board Member and the Treasurer and Chair of the Finance, Operations and Audit Committee. He has
served in the past at iStart Valley as a Board Member and the Chief Marketing Officer as well as a Board Member at Mental Health America. He is an Advisory Board member at Simple Therapy and has served in the past on the Boards of The Ohio State University College of Education and the City of Satellite Beach.
Bryan has invested significantly in his development as a professional and effective Board member. This includes being a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), as well as the Private Directors Association (PDA) where he currently serves on the cybersecurity task force and is the Founding President for the Alabama chapter of the PDA.
Bryan is a senior executive with 30 years of servant leadership experience that includes big-picture expertise, keen operational, financial, and governance skills, and firsthand knowledge of the functions and processes that make teams and businesses work. His diverse business career spans successful domestic and international roles across a wide variety of healthcare organizations including large, public companies like Medtronic, Abbott Laboratories, Zimmer Biomet, and Humana. He has also operated in several privately held and private equity owned companies including Ventana Medical Systems (acquired by Roche Diagnostics), AmeriPath (acquired by Quest Diagnostics), Healogics, and Sage Growth Partners. Bryan most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer of PracticeWise, a privately held, mission-driven company that serves individuals and organizations working with children and families struggling with behavioral health challenges.
Bryan’s career has been centered in healthcare and around commercial leadership with highlights in growth, strategy, communications, sales, marketing, technology, product and market development, international market entry, and commercial operations. Bryan has enjoyed consistent career growth across an eclectic mix of companies, market segments, and geographies. This diversity allowed him to learn and lead in a wide array of environments with common themes around team and talent development, employee and customer engagement, and always leaving things better than when he found them. He has consistently broken boundaries spanned gaps across functional silos. A connector, he invests heavily in developing and nurturing a deep, strong, and diverse professional network.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Webster University that he completed during his final tour of duty in the Marine Corps. He also completed several Medtronic-sponsored executive education programs from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
He currently serves as a mentor with Veterati, MedTech Vets, American Corporate Partners, and Groundswell Startups. Passionate about his faith, his family, and serving others, Bryan strives to be a servant leader who pays it forward and is worthy of following. He works to lead by example with compassion, humility, strength, and a genuine sense of humor. He resides with his wife in the Birmingham, AL area near their two adult children.
