Mr. Train is a Managing Partner of The Grosvenor Funds, having joined the firm in December, 1995. Grosvenor is currently investing its fourth fund targeting early-stage, IP protected technologies addressing large market opportunities, with an East Coast geographic focus. Over the past 13 years, Mr. Train and his partners have made over 60 venture
capital investments.
Prior to joining Grosvenor, Mr. Train spent most of his career advising, financing, managing and funding private companies across several industries, including health care, telecommunications and environmental services. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Mr. Train practiced law with Shaw, Pittman, LLP, in Washington, DC. His practice focused on corporate finance, including venture capital transactions and mergers and acquisitions. In 1991, Mr. Train joined the administration of President George Bush as a senior official at the Environmental Protection Agency.
Among his charitable activities, Mr. Train serves on the boards of The Nature Conservancy (Maryland/DC Chapter), the African Wildlife Foundation, the Ocean Foundation and he previously completed three years of service on the Board of Hospice Care of the District of Columbia.
