Carrie Shaw, CEO and founder of Embodied Labs, works at the intersection of health education and virtual reality storytelling to produce immersive training tools for caregivers working with older adults. She holds both a bachelor's degree in Public Health and a master's in Biomedical Visualization. After returning from the Dominican
Republic where she served as a Peace Corps Health Educator, Carrie became primary caregiver to her mother who was living with Early Onset Alzheimer's disease. This opened Carrie's eyes to the needs of the aging services workforce. In 2018, Embodied Labs won the grand prize of $250K from The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for XR in Education.
