Charles Anastasia co-founded Orion Seafood International, Inc. in 1988 and helped the company in becoming a leading worldwide distributor and marketer of North Atlantic lobster and snow crab. Orion has been the pioneer and leader in the development of the frozen lobster and frozen snow crab business in Atlantic Canada. Charles brings over 30 years
of seafood industry experience to Orion, including work as a commercial fisherman and an apprenticeship with one of Boston’s most eminent chefs. Charles has led Orion’s efforts in the redesign and operational alignment of the company’s Canadian plants, allowing Orion to meet new global demands for frozen crustaceans. Since 1989, Charles has also been the driving force in delivering an increasing share of the US lobster catch to Canada for production. Charles’ experience with seafood, combined with his culinary experience, have contributed to a high level of communication and understanding with all sectors of the fishing industry: scientists, fishers, processors, and the culinary community.
