Chi Mao is the Chairman, Founder, and Board of Directors of ALWII. He attended medical school and completed his internship at the University of Texas–Houston Health Science Center. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine. He is not only board-certified in internal medicine, but he also holds a
Ph.D. in physiology and biophysics. Dr. Mao is also certified in Wound Care Medicine and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. As a Health Grades Recognized Doctor, Dr. Mao has been practicing medicine for over 30 years and has authored numerous publications and formal presentations at local, national, and international levels. His major fields of research interest include neurochemistry, neuropharmacology, gastrointestinal physiology, and endocrinology. For years he worked at the National Institute of Health as a Research Scientist.
Dr. Mao has served as the Medical Director and the Chief Medical Officer at Select Specialty Hospitals in the Houston area since 1994. He is a member of the Harris County Medical Society, NYAS, the Texas Medical Association, and the Texas Medical Directors Association. He is also proficient in Mandarin Chinese.
