Chris Goode is a strategic growth expert, hands-on leader, and accomplished CEO. For almost 30 years, Chris has pioneered marrying big data with meteorology and remote sensing – a lifelong passion that has had a far-reaching global impact.
Chris has a 6th sense for future market potential and uses this innate skill to solve real-world problems.
As the founder and Chief Executive for Climavision, he is now pioneering significant advances in the weather services space with an intelligence platform powered by a private network of high-resolution radars, GPS-RO data, and proprietary software. This revolutionary new approach will vastly improve the timing and accuracy of weather forecasting and fill low-level gaps in existing weather surveillance.
He has leveraged weather data and developed technologies to serve industries such as aviation, energy, media, insurance, defense, and international governments. In his previous position as the CEO for the world’s leading manufacturer of weather sensing solutions and software, Enterprise Electronics Corporation (EEC), Chris has helped craft national remote sensing plans for countries around the world. He’s also led the development of innovative software solutions that literally changed the way the world sees and interprets weather data today.
Prior to EEC, Chris was responsible for harnessing weather data and SaaS opportunities at both AirDat and The Weather Channel Companies. He understood the value of merging proprietary and public data sources and what it would mean for a diverse portfolio of clients. At the same time, he recognized the enormous potential for recurring revenue and data streams. He successfully monetized an array of public weather data sets, specialized weather forecasting models, and broke new ground in the build-out of an aircraft-mounted, proprietary upper air sensor network.
Beyond his passion for meteorology, Chris’s business acumen allows him to be decisive, build relationships, spot hidden potential, and revive complacent businesses. He championed the restructuring and rebranding of EEC, and in doing so, improved and expanded national and international marketing efforts, improved operational processes and communications, and expanded EEC’s product portfolio to include comprehensive remote sending solutions beyond the company’s core weather radar products. Through acquisitions and a refreshed global focus, he increased international market share across the key regions of Europe, Central America, South America, Asia Pacific, and India, and reestablished the company as a market leader.
Chris has received numerous sales performance and achievement awards, including two Emmy Awards. His most recent Emmy recognized his team at EEC for technological achievement for their design and engineering of a mobile weather radar for NBC Universal. Chris holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Montana and is a U.S. Air Force veteran where he received the Meritorious Service Medal serving as an aviation weather specialist.
