Chris joined Aurora in 2003 and became a Partner in 2007. Chris focuses on biopharmaceutical and medical device opportunities and brings a broad spectrum of business, clinical and scientific expertise to Aurora's investments in these sectors.
Chris led or co-led syndicated investments in Cardioxyl Pharmaceuticals, Hyberbranch Medical, and
Neotropix, and led Auroras's investments in Cardiofocus and Paringenix.
Prior to joining Aurora, Chris trained in general surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School where he was involved in the medical and surgical care of transplant, trauma, vascular, cardiac and general surgical patients.
He has over seven years of clinical experience in both academic and community hospital practices, and is a licensed physician in North Carolina.
Chris also has significant basic science research experience primarily in signal transduction, including work on the molecular biology and genetics of apoptosis, and the transcriptional regulation of Interleukin-2 in human T-cells.
Chris Previously worked with Arthur D. Little/Decision Resources, providing industry and technology analysis to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.
Additionally, while attending business school, Chris worked in Corporate Development at Genzyme.
