As the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Christopher Augostini oversees the finance and administrative units of the University in support of Georgetown’s academic mission for Georgetown's historic Main Campus, Georgetown Law Center, and Georgetown University Medical Center.
His portfolio includes the Office of Financial
Affairs, the Investment Office, University Facilities Management, Human Resources, Faculty and Staff Benefits, University Information Services, Auxiliary Services, Internal Audit, and Risk Management.
Under Mr. Augostini's leadership, Georgetown's endowment has increased by 140 percent, its bond rating improved by both Moody's and Standard and Poor's and its cash and operating positions improved.
Mr. Augostini leads Georgetown's master planning process to shape the physical campus and oversees the financial strength and operational efficiency of the University. In addition to leading Georgetown’s physical campus growth, Augostini spearheaded the University’s strategic growth in executive education and online education, including Georgetown’s decision to become the fifth partner in the edX consortium.
Mr. Augostini has served in a variety of leadership roles during his tenure at Georgetown. In addition to his current role, he served as the Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for the University, and as the CFO of Georgetown's Law Center.
Prior to Georgetown, Mr. Augostini worked for New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani's administration as Chief of Staff to the Deputy Mayor for Operations, Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, and as Deputy Budget Director.
He currently is a co-chair of the Georgetown Community Partnership, a historic partnership with the Georgetown community and the District of Columbia, and also serves on the Board of Directors of the W.R. Berkley Corporation.
Mr. Augostini holds a master's degree in public policy analysis and a bachelor's degree in public policy.
