Dan Mazzei is a registered professional engineer and Associate with Wallace Engineering in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He designs buildings and other structures based on architectural drawings and specifications. He inspects buildings and other structures to ensure they meet engineering and safety standards. He also performs forensic investigations to
determine causes of structural failures.
Before devoting himself to full time structural design Mr. Mazzei renovated and managed rental homes in Starkville, Mississippi, during and following his post graduate work at Mississippi State University. Prior to returning to academia, Mr. Mazzei served in the Army as an officer in the Corps of Engineers. He served in positions from platoon leader to executive officer and, among other duties, served with a project design team in Bosnia, Herzegovina designing and managing the build of multi-million dollar structures for US peace keeping forces.
Apart from work, Mr. Mazzei serves as a campaign manager and strategic consultant for political campaigns. He successfully managed one of the most critical and contested state senate races in Oklahoma during the 2008 election cycle. In this capacity he directed the efforts of over 90 volunteers and helped manage a $500,000 budget. He is also active in local church activities, youth coaching, and has spent time in Mexico, Jamaica, and Guatemala doing short term mission work.
Mr. Mazzei was graduated, with honors from the Virginia Military Institute and earned his Master of Science degree on an academic fellowship at Mississippi State.
He is married to the former Mary Brooke Buckner, with whom he has five children.
