An experienced financial executive and a CEO and Founding Partner of SG Capital Partners and SGCP Advisors, Dan Sparks has established himself as a leader in the mortgage and fixed-income securities sector. After receiving his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from Texas A&M University, he joined the Fixed Income
Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. In this role, Dan Sparks spent the majority of his time in the mortgage business, eventually becoming the head of the firm’s Mortgage Department.
In addition to leading the Mortgage Department, Dan Sparks worked for Goldman Sachs in structured product finance, emerging market debt, and asset-backed securities. He served on boards and advisory committees of several of the firm's subsidiaries, including Senderra, Avelo Mortgage, Litton Loan Servicing, and Archon Group. He ultimately advanced to become a partner and managing director of Goldman Sachs before leaving to pursue other opportunities in 2008.
More recently, Mr. Sparks spent several years as the owner and manager of DLS Advisors, an investment firm concentrating on mortgage and other fixed-income securities. In 2013, he joined forces with Kevin Gasvoda and Justin Mahoney to found SG Capital Partners and SGCP Advisors, an integrated mortgage acquisition and investment firm headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut.
Aside from his professional activities, Mr. Sparks has served on the Board of Trustees for the 12th Man Foundation at Texas A&M University and on the Advisory Board for the Mays Business School Finance Department. He has also spent time as a coach of youth sports in New Canaan.
