Mr. King has over 15 years of experience with technology startups and software development, in a wide-range of capacities. After graduating from MIT with an electrical engineering / computer science degree, Mr. King helped to pioneer paperless manufacturing information systems in the electronics industry, then focused on designing extensible
software systems for ad-hoc visualization and analysis of large-scale multi-dimensional datasets.
In 2011, he saw the need for a more modular and cross-disciplinary approach to data science, and founded Exaptive, Inc. in order to pursue ways that data and community can be combined to facilitate innovation. In 2015 he relocated from Boston to Oklahoma City and is in the processing of establishing an OKC office. His company recently closed a round of fundraising to fuel its growth in Oklahoma, and was selected earlier this year by Gartner as a 2015 ‘Cool Vendor’.
