David Baron serves as Chief Operating Officer at Mindshow, where he drives business operations, strategic licensing partnerships, and go-to-market initiatives to accelerate Mindshow's growth trajectory from full-service production company to real-time animation SaaS platform serving partners like Mattel and ESPN. A pioneering figure at the
intersection of technology and media entertainment for three decades, Baron brings comprehensive expertise spanning global content delivery, streaming platform development, and operational scaling.
Prior to Mindshow, David Baron was the former CEO of Scener, the social viewing platform for streaming entertainment. He holds a seasoned track record of innovation including senior roles at Hulu, News Corporation/Fox Digital Media, and Paramount Digital Entertainment. Baron was a founding member of Hulu’s original core team and a key leader in building out Hulu + LiveTV, while overseeing content delivery, processing, and partnerships for both Live and On-Demand services. Additionally, he managed Production Operations and Technical Compliance organizations that developed innovative services and processes for Hulu technical operations.
As Vice President of Digital Media at Fox, Baron developed digital content distribution strategies based on new technologies, new partners, and new business models, resulting in opening up the iTunes business and Fox’s first streaming service, as well as the partnership with NBCU that ultimately became Hulu. At Paramount Digital Entertainment, he served as Vice President of Programming and Production, while at Microsoft he was the company’s first Entertainment Industry Liaison.
Baron's industry insights have been featured in leading entertainment publications including Variety and Deadline, where he has shared his expertise on the evolution of digital media, content delivery, and changing consumer viewing behaviors. He has also shared his experience and expertise within academia, holding an adjunct professorship in the Business and Film schools of USC since 1994 and teaching a graduate-level course on the Business of New Technologies in the Entertainment Industry. He is a graduate of Yale University.
