David Page has served since 2005 as the Director of the Whitehead Institute, an independent non-profit research and educational institute affiliated with Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In this role, he leads a group of scientists focused on cancer research, immunology, developmental biology, stem cell research, regenerative medicine,
genetics and genomics. Page’s own research focuses on the genetic and genomic differences between males and females, and the roles that these differences play in health and disease. His honors include a MacArthur Prize Fellowship, Science magazine’s Top Ten Scientific Advances of the Year (in 1992 and again in 2003) and the 2011 March of Dimes Prize in Developmental Biology.
He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Page also serves as a professor of biology at MIT and as an Investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
