Dr. Deepak Divan is Chief Scientist & Founder of Varentec. He is also Professor, Petit Chair and Director of the Center for Distributed Energy at Georgia Tech. Dr. Divan has over 35 years of experience in industry and academia in the areas of power electronics applied to utility and industrial systems with Varentec being his third
entrepreneurial venture.
Dr. Divan is a Member of the National Academy of Engineers, Fellow of the IEEE, recipient of the 2006 IEEE Newell Award, is past President of the IEEE Power Electronics Society, and has been elected as a Member of the National Academy of Engineering. With over 250 papers and 50 issued and pending patents, Dr. Divan combines unique perspectives on the changing landscape on the Transmission & Distribution grid, and the need for a transition to dynamic grid edge control, including advanced power electronics solutions and unique control algorithms.
