Derrick is a young technology and social entrepreneur with a passion for creating innovative brands and businesses. Educationally trained in ed-tech, specifically online/distance learning and course design, Derrick has found his calling. He created a startup ed-tech firm in 2014 called The AppleTree Agency whose first product currently in
development, GRASPIE, looks to change how we look at training and employee engagement. Derrick's passion doesn't stop there. He has also given his time to help others develop and hone their own skills by creating a social endeavor called The Black Diamond Society whose three core principles, networking, philanthropy and of course, entrepreneurship, speak to Derrick's personal values as well. As a adjunct professor Derrick takes pride in helping to educate the next generation of change makers and entrepreneurs, and feels that it is in these moments that he can see the beauty in everything he undertakes.
