Dick is a co-founder of Steel Dynamics, Inc. and is
responsible for all of the company’s steelmaking and
steel-finishing operations.
dick.jpgWhen SDI was founded in 1993, Dick became vice president and manager of rolling and finishing at the new Butler, Indiana, flat-roll mill. Later, he managed the construction and operation of the
cold-rolling and galvanizing facilities at the Flat Roll mill. Prior to his current position, which he has held since 2008, Dick served as Vice President and General Manager of the Structural and Rail Division from 1998 to 2007.
Before Dick co-founded SDI, he worked as an engineering manager at Nucor in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Dick earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Lafayette College and a master’s in
business administration from Duquesne University.
Dick has also served as president of the Association of Iron and Steel Technology (AIST).
