Dirk Kloosterboer is the Member of the Supervisory Board at Darling Ingredients.
Dirk Kloosterboer graduated in 1980 from the Agriculture University in Wageningen, the Netherlands, from the Food Technology field of study. He began his carrier as a dairy expert for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, working in Columbia from 1980-1984 on a project
called “Industria Lechara Narino.”
After returning to the Netherlands, he began working for the “B.V. Nederlandse Thermo-Chemische bedrijven,” currently known as Sonac Burgum, where he held several positions from technologist to general manager. In 1996, Dirk Kloosterboer made a move to the holding company, Rendac B.V., where he served as General Manager. In 2001, he became member of the Board of Directors of Rendac’s mother company, Sobel N.V., and began serving as Chairman of the Board in 2003.
During this time, Sobel was transformed into VION Ingredients, a division of VION N.V.
Dirk Kloosterboer continued to serve as a member of the Board of VION N.V. and became CEO of the VION Ingredients division, with its worldwide subsidiaries Ecoson, Rendac, Sonac, Rousselot, CTH and Besthides. After the January 2014 acquisition by Darling, Vion Ingredients now operates its six brands under the name Darling Ingredients International.
