Thinking big has never been a problem for me.
I’m passionate about sustainability, design, architecture and the intersection of those things. I love connecting seemingly disparate ideas, and building on those ideas. All the better if those ideas are a result of “out of the box” thinking and have the potential to disrupt or reshape industries.
I
spent a good part of my career leading the development of large, complex, energy and natural resource projects in Asia. To succeed, an effective project developer needs a unique set of personality traits: optimism, creative problem solving, an ability to see the big picture while attending to details, negotiation skills, an ability to manage people internally and externally, and, most importantly – tenacity – never giving up, always pushing forward regardless of seemingly insurmountable hurdles.
I leveraged these same skills when I co-founded Synthesis Energy Systems, Inc., a NASDAQ-listed clean energy company. I look for these same skills when I deal with entrepreneurs in the start-ups that I invest in.
I am now leveraging my values, skills and experience on a new venture, called NODE, combining sustainable energy technologies, energy efficiency, and cutting edge design into a unique modular building system.
