Douglas Smith is Vice President of Central Engineering, supporting foundation IP development. In his role, he is responsible for Broadcom’s library of core technologies including process technology direction, spice modeling, computer aided design (CAD) flows, electronic design automation (EDA) tools procurement, timing sign-off and IP sharing.
Previously, he led the Digital Foundation IP development group within Central Engineering at Broadcom. Prior to joining Broadcom in 1999, Mr. Smith served as Memory Compiler Design Manager at Motorola’s Semiconductor Products Sector. He also held senior engineering positions at National Semiconductor and Fairchild Semiconductor. Mr. Smith earned his B.S and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Brigham Young University at Provo, Utah.
