Admiral Straw is the Managing Partner at Osprey Venture Partners. He brings many years of executive leadership, business development and operational for major corporations and the U.S. military to Capital Teas. As President of Global Operations for Estée Lauder, he led the manufacturing, R&D, package engineering, quality assurance and global
supply chain areas, supporting all 20 brands of the Estée Lauder Companies.
Prior to joining the Estée Lauder Companies, he was Senior Vice President, Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management at Compaq Computer Corporation, then the world's largest computer company. Before joining Compaq in late 1998, he was President of Miami-based Ryder Integrated Logistics, Inc., then the leading provider of supply chain services in North America. Admiral Straw had a distinguished career in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a three-star admiral in 1996.
During his service, he was Chief Executive of the Defense Logistics Agency, the largest military logistics command supporting the American armed forces, and reported directly to General Colin Powell, then Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Vice Admiral Straw is the recipient of Defense, Navy and Air Force Distinguished Service Medals, the Ford Foundation's Innovations in American Government Award and the Society of Logistics Engineers' Founders Medal.
He is a distinguished graduate of the Navy Supply Corps School and is one of four officers to receive the Navy Supply Corps' Lifetime Achievement Award. Admiral Straw holds an MBA from George Washington University and a B.S. from the U.S. Naval Academy. He is also a graduate of the National War College. He resides in New York City and Annapolis, Maryland with his wife Christine.d
