A guiding force for Macerich who has helped position the company as one of the nation’s leading shopping center REITs, Ed Coppola has broad oversight of Macerich’s strategic direction.Previously in his long-term role as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for Macerich, Mr. Coppola over three decades helped grow the
company’s portfolio, establish it as a public company and create its national footprint.
As President, Mr. Coppola continues to guide the company’s financial resources and key lender and investor relationships, and collaborates with the critical spheres of legal, leasing and overall management of Macerich. As well, he continues to oversee acquisitions and dispositions, department store relations and the company’s important development/redevelopment strategy across the country.
Mr. Coppola, a native of Des Moines, Iowa, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and a Juris Doctorate from Drake University. He is a member of the Real Estate Roundtable in Washington, D.C., and is a frequent contributor to key industry panels and conferences.
