Eleftherios Pilalis holds a BSc degree in Biochemistry, a MSc degree in Bioinformatics and Genomics, both from the Aix-Marseille University, France, and a PhD in Bioinformatics and Metabolic Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens.
He is a post-doctoral research fellow in the Bioinformatics and Metabolic Engineering Group
of the National Hellenic Research Foundation, Athens, Greece.
His research encompasses a wide spectrum of Bioinformatics applications in Biotechnology, having as main axis Systems Biology, i.e. the holistic approach of extraction and analysis of large-scale biological information in terms of integrative systems.
He has participated in several funded research programs and has a wide publication record that includes contributions to Metabolic Engineering, Gene Expression Analysis, Biological Ontologies, Metagenomics and application of Machine Learning techniques to Biotechnology.
