Elvin Smith is a patent attorney and entrepreneur from Dallas, Texas.
He holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from Texas A&M, an MBA (with a focus on finance and accounting) from Texas A&M, and a J.D. from the University of Texas. He has consulted with numerous start-up companies regarding protection of their intellectual property and
other intellectual property issues and has founded or co-founded several companies in a variety of industries. While in law school, he interned with Chief Justice Tom Phillips of the Texas Supreme Court. Upon completion of law school, he served as a law clerk for United States District Judge Paul Brown in Sherman, Texas. He then joined the Dallas office of Strasburger & Price, where he became a partner in 2001. In 2005, Mr. Smith left Strasburger & Price to pursue more entrepeneurial ventures.
Mr. Smith is registered to practice in front of the United States Patent & Trademark Office and in each of the federal and state courts in Texas. He also serves as a mentor for students in Texas A&M's MBA program, and was invited to compete in the 1984 Olympic Trials in both Trap and Skeet.
