Enrico Picozza is a 27-year pioneer in the life sciences with a history of recognizing, developing and commercializing new and disruptive technologies.
He is currently a board observer of Tandem Diabetes. He was previously a board observer and special advisor for Interlace Medical, Inc. (sold to Hologic, Inc NASDAQ: HOLX) and board member for
SensAble Technologies (sold to GeoMagic). Prior to joining HLM as a Venture Partner, Enrico co-founded HTS Biosystems, Inc., (sold to GEHealthcare Life Sciences/Bicore) an early developer of platforms for drug discovery and point of care diagnostics, where he served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer.
Prior to HTS, Enrico held leadership positions with PerkinElmer, Inc. and Applied Biosystems, Inc. While at PerkinElmer, Enrico was one of the founding team members behind the development and commercialization of PCR, the revolutionary DNA-replicating technology that enabled the development of some of the most significant advancements in molecular biology including diagnostics, human ID and personalized medicine.
He is the holder of nine patents and has been recognized by the Smithsonian Institute for his achievements in PCR. Enrico is the author of numerous scientific papers and has been a frequent international speaker.
In addition he is an advisor to several companies in the field of regenerative medicine and molecular diagnostics. In addition Enrico serves as a member of the BioInspire Council of Advisors for Peoria and a member of Tufts Medical School Invest Council.
He earned his master's degree in molecular and cell biology from the University of Connecticut.
