Sorscher is a Professor at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta Georgia. Dr. Sorscher is trained as a medical oncologist. He received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School. His residency and fellowship training was at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was named Lucille P.
Markey Scholar in Biomedical Sciences and serves as PI of several NIH grants, including an NIH Center grant directed towards understanding and treating cystic fibrosis. His laboratory has made important contributions concerning basic aspects of molecular and cellular biology, in particular, as these relate to epithelial protein over-expression and processing within the endoplasmic reticulum and proteasome.
