I grew up in a blue-collar Midwestern family: a curious, outgoing kid mesmerized by Star Trek and the idea of a positive world without war, hunger, or poverty. Where technology was shared, and used for the greater good.
Dad was an aerospace technician and Mom a hairdresser, so how things worked — and how they looked — were equally important at
home. That probably explains my three careers: software developer, corporate marketing strategist, and logistics tech.
My earliest work involved COBOL, cubicles, and the Arpanet. By the mid-90s, I had leveraged my fascination with HTML to guide executives at GE, Kraft, RCA, P&G, Johnson & Johnson and others as they stepped into the commercial web and e-commerce. In 1996, my Cincinnati team built one of the earliest AI-powered websites. In 1997, the first corporate social media platform for MCI. In 1999, my LA team streamed Ford’s first live webcast with Mark Cuban’s Broadcast.com.
By 2005, I was pitching podcasting to Bowflex, and by 2009, augmented reality to Subaru.
In 2014, my London team used predictive AI to model social media behavior, and that same year I wrote one of the earliest articles on cryptocurrency for InformationWeek.
TODAY: TRANSPARENT PATH These days, my team uses IoT and predictive/prescriptive intelligence to reduce cost, waste, risk, and environmental impact across global supply chains. Our mission is simple: keep food, pharmaceuticals, and critical cargo out of landfills. Transparent Path now protects perishable goods across five continents using an advanced proof-of-custody platform built around agility, trust, and transparency.
PERPETUATE: A "JOR-EL" PROJECT Just like that curious, outgoing boy of the 60s, I'm still sharing what I’ve learned. Beyond lecturing at universities, I’m building Perpetuate: an AI-powered digital persona platform that preserves your personal stories, knowledge, and guidance for future generations. Think Superman's dad - and you're the dad leaving an interactive version of yourself for your descendants.
SPEAKING I do keynotes and solo talks worldwide on AI, advertising, sustainability, logistics, transparency, digital ethics, and the future of trust.
