Eugene Chen has over two decades’ experience as a venture capitalist and entrepreneur focused on healthcare. Eugene is a Founding General Partner/Manager of Camino Innovation Holdings, LLC; Medenovo, LLC and CWC Healthtech Fund; venture capital funds focused on healthcare. Previously, Eugene was a Venture Partner with Alta Partners, a
diversified Silicon Valley venture capital firm named one of CB insights top VC firms. Eugene has been involved in many deals and exits including: AFX Medical, (Edward Life Sciences), Endonetics(Medtronic), Techmedica(Sulzermedica), and USGI IP(Intuitive Surgical).
Eugene is also co-founder and CEO of SPIWay, LLC, a neuro-endoscopy company, and co-founder of FRESCA Medical, a company developing a consumer friendly device for sleep apnea, Executive Chairman of iGenomX, a new generation sequencing (NGS) application company focused on detecting complex genetic variations to better understand the genomic contribution to disease and Executive Chairman of Prescient Surgical, a company focused on reducing surgical infections. Previously, Eugene was founder/CEO of USGI Medical, a minimally-invasive-obesity company; GM/Senior Vice President at Applied Medical Resources Corporation; and Founder/CEO of BioFlex/Kinesys Inc., a knee orthotics company. Eugene also serves as a board member of Microfabrica Inc.; Jumpcode Genomics and is board member of Feeding San Diego. Eugene holds an M.B.A from the Anderson School at UCLA and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and is a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA).
