Evan Rubinson is just 30 years old and has achieved more than most of us do in a lifetime. He’s had multiple roles as leader of a company and is the CIO of a hedge fund he founded. He’s also a college admissions advisory committee member and a division one college athlete. Evan loves dogs and has four of his own while also helping out K9-focused
charities like the Tampa Bay Humane Society and Southeastern Guide Dogs. The motto he lives by is “selfless desires often evoke selfless actions,” and his warm, kind, and friendly demeanor puts this on display every day.
Evan is a musician and lifelong lover of music, which has led him to his most recent role as a professional authority in the music industry. At the young age of 25, he transitioned from the cutthroat financial sector to become president of Armadillo Enterprises, which owns and operates mulitple world-famous brands. Guitars, along with Luna Guitars and ddrum Percussion brands. His responsibilities at Armadillo spanned a broad and complex spectrum, from handling some of the most high-level, strategic problems to managing aspects of artist relations with some of the world’s best rock guitar players.
His passion for business took hold while he attended Duke University as a track and field sprinter. He graduated with a BA in economics and public policy and earned financial and investment-related internships with Wall Street firms and private equity companies. Evan eventually landed a role as a private equity analyst with Prometheus Partners, where he created valuable large-scale projection models that were able to successfully predict the future cash flows of various investments.
That crucial, real-world experience ultimately culminated in Evan founding his hedge fund Koroit Capital, which focuses on investments in highly-profitable healthcare and biotechnology companies. Evan’s financial expertise, as well as his knowledge of policymaking and government regulation, have been instrumental in Koroits’s all-encompassing investment approach. Evan also owns and manages multiple commercial real estate interests in the Southeast region of the United States.
Lately, Evan has found a lot of joy in serving as an interviewer for prospective applicants to Duke University and being a proud alumnus donor. He also continues his long-time philanthropic work with Wounded Warriors, SGT Shredder: Rocking to Heal Vets, The Mike Calta Family Foundation, and his former high school, Tampa Jesuit High School. He is currently serving as a member of The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM). His hobbies include hiking, swimming, running, golfing, auto racing, and grilling. He also loves vintage arcade games, pinball, movies, reading, and traveling.
